October 26, 2012 - In 1968 Perry & Kiki Kiousis came to the Outer Banks and started feeding Outer Banks locals and visitors breakfast. The tradition continues! We are so happy to announce the birth of our daughter, Emilia Vasiliki Kiousis, October 18, 2012 at 2:58 am!! She came early, doctors orders – due on the 20th, I was admitted and induced on the 16th. The doctors knew (probably because of all the great breakfasts she had been privy to) that she would be a big baby! 9 lbs even and 21 1/4 inches long! I remember when she was first born and they placed her on my chest I thought “WHO’S child is this???” I was in awe that this little being was in my STOMACH just minutes before. Pregnancy, labor and motherhood are absolutely awe inspiring experiences; each with their own ups & downs, plusses and minuses. She was a week old yesterday and proving to all of us that she is not a shy eater! Happy, healthy and quite entertaining – she definitely is a nice combination of her Greek side and my German/Irish side. It warms my heart and brings me to tears to listen to her father speak Greek to her and watch in awe as she moves her heads towards his voice and calms so magically.
